Worship Opportunities
5th July 2020
The Government has now published its guidance for the re-opening of places of worship for private prayer, however, the Methodist Church’s advice remains that churches stay closed.
Methodists understand the vital need for prayer at this time and have a tradition of praying wherever they are. Prayer has continued whilst the buildings have been closed.
The Methodist Church wants people to pray and worship safely and have committed to a full review of their guidance after the Conference which is at the end of June.
You may wish to worship at home using a ‘worship at home sheet’ (link below) or join a live streamed service. Within the Methodist family there are four services (of different styles) being live-streamed this coming Sunday and in the weeks ahead. These are:
Wesley's Chapel London – who will livestream from the chapel (the Minister lives on the premises)
Swan Bank Methodist Church in Burslem, this worship will be studio based – with strict distancing rules being followed
Revd Andy Fishburne broadcasting “At home” from the Isle of Man
Methodist Central Hall, Westminster from a virtual studio – with the worship facilitated by the team from their homes
