Sunday 1st November 2020 Worship Opportunities
We will continue to have a short service on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. You may wish to worship at home using the service on The Anchor (link below) or join a live streamed service. Within the Methodist family there are four services (of different styles) being live-streamed this coming Sunday and in the weeks ahead. 10:30Online Remembrance Sunday Service
New national restrictions to control the spread of Coronavirus which came into force on 5th November require places of worship to close. Aldershot Methodist Church will not meet in the church building on Sunday mornings during November, however, Rev Chris Blake's online reflections and the weekly newsletter with continue to be added to the website. This week, instead of a video reflection, you are invited to share in the Remembrance Sunday service which is being made available on the North Camp and Aldershot Facebook pages and through the ‘Google Drive’ link below. The service was recorded in October in a ‘Covid Secure’ context and will be ‘premiered’ on Sunday starting at 10.30 a.m. You can watch the service (which lasts about 40 minutes) on Facebook at any time from 10.30 a.m. Sunday onwards, and if you watch the service at the time when it is premiered, you will find that the two minutes silence will be at 11.00 a.m. The details for finding the service are as below 1) On Facebook. You do not need to have a Facebook account to watch the service. It can be found on the Aldershot and North Camp Facebook pages. If it is easier, then clicking on this link https://www.facebook.com/northcampmethodist/ will take you to the North Camp page where you will be able to find the service easily. 2) Google Drive. The service is available now on Google Drive at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jwxAovMxI4tdXFvRbAdKB2bP8iMoRMIx/view?usp=sharing Clicking this link should take you directly to the service. The service should start automatically although if you have a Google account you may need to sign in to allow this to happen. This Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent. For the next three weeks Chris' video reflection will include one or two hymns or songs suitable for the Advent season. On the fourth Sunday of Advent he will be posting a digital version of our carol service.
